With the very controversial decisions made by the FFA's unique Match Review Panel (MRP) on Monday, BOTN again asks - Is it legal? (ie. allowed by FIFA) - Whatever the merits of the MRPs actions or indeed lack of them, in these cases, are the FFA breaching FIFA Regulations with the 'kangaroo court' MRP? 11/08/2010: The new Qantas Socceroos Head Coach will be Holger Osieck. Frank Lowy announced the appointment in Ljubljana this afternoon prior to Thursday morning's fixture against Slovenia at the new Sportni Park stadium. After two Dutchmen, Holger Osieck (aged 62) is a German born football coach. He most recently managed J-League club Urawa Red Diamonds in 2008, and served as an assistant coach of Germany when they won the 1990 World Cup. He also has had two spells in Turkish club football and led Canada to win the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup, plus served on FIFA’s Technical Study Group Committee at the 2010 WC. More details ...
