International Football: Mens Friendly
Slovenia 2 - Australia 0

12/08/2010: Slovenia christened their new stadium in Ljubljana with a conformatable 2-0 win over fellow World Cup side Australia prior to their European Cup campaign. A rebuilding Australia, with new coach Holger Osieck looking on, were very flat. Slovenia's wastefulness in front of goal prevented a larger margin - with Zlatko Dedic finally breaking the deadlock in the 78th minute with a powerfully taken header. Zlatan Ljubijankic then sealed the result in the first minute of stoppage time with a strike from outside the area that was too good for substitute goalkeeper Adam Federici ...

01/08/2010: The Qantas Young Socceroos have won the final of the U-19 Youth AFF Championships tournament in Vietnam beating defending champion Thailand 1-0. Australia had drawn with Thailand in their group. The young team had defeated South Korea 1-0, drew with Thailand 1-1, and won 4-1 in the last game. This is preparation for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-19 Championships 2010 in Shandong, China, from 3-17 October, 2010. ..

Football Tragics Trip, to Hamilton
Opinion article

19/07/2010: A small party of the NSW chapter of the BOTN team took another hop at the weekend; this time north to Newcastle and the NNSW Football NBN league (as in June 2009). 4th placed Hamilton Olympic defeated Broadmeadow Magic 4-1 in a high quality game watched by a good crowd. More importantly it was a good day out, some good company, good food and beer, and another ground to tick off our list ...
